Your First Visit

Your first visit to our office will be a consultation to familiarize you with us, and to allow Dr. Scarola to evaluate you or your child's dentition. He will then be able to answer any questions you may have. Because the complexity of malocclusions vary, it is not possible to offer telephone quotations; fees vary widely with the difficulty of the case. For this reason our initial consultation is offered at no charge. If after the examination it is deemed necessary to take records to provide a definitive diagnosis, we will be able to provide this service at the initial appointment or you may make a second appointment for records. The fee for records will vary.

After records are taken and reviewed, a treatment plan and fee payment structure can be finalized according to your needs and treatment can progress. Most patients pay for treatment over the anticipated time to completion, financed monthly without interest. If your insurance policy covers orthodontics, we can help you estimate the coverage available. Our staff will be happy to help you in answering any questions you have about filing claims.

There are two periods of treatment: active (tooth movement and skeletal change) and retention (wearing of retainers). There are some treatment plans that consist of multiple phases of active treatment. The length of time that is required for active treatment and the subsequent results depend quite a bit upon the TOTAL cooperation of all involved; as well as upon variations in response of the nature to treatment when dealing with bone growth or remodeling, habits, muscle function, etc. The retention period begins at the completion of the active period and is equally important for stabilizing results, and keeping teeth in alignment.

We want your treatment to progress as rapidly as possible, and achieve as fine as possible end result. To achieve both, all appointments should be kept on time, and all of the instructions should be followed exactly as given. Our appointment schedule offers a variety of flexible times and days for your convenience.
